Application technology specialist – High Performance Surfaces, Functional Solutions will contribute as Application specialist to BU growth through technical support of customer projects, product testing, evaluation and application development as well as innovations in application technologies. The task of the Application technology specialist will be: Elaboration of application procedure for existing formulations. Interpretation and Documentation of the test results Active engagement in supporting customer projects, trouble shooting and best praxis sharing Support sales, marketing and global R&D by developing demo kits for customer presentations. Develop competencies, play an active role in applications innovations, REQUIREMENTS: Must have: BS/BA in Polymer Chemistry, Coating application , Engineer or other technical areas. 5 plus years of working history in specilalty chemicals, pigments, coatings, plastics or related industry. Working experiences and knowledge about coating materials, surface treatment, additives and formulations, particularly related to coatings applications. No visual impairment since the ability to observe and differentiate surface appearances, textures, colors is essential for this position. Excellent problem solving skills. Proactive approach to identify and complete projects, detail oriented, with focus on quality. Strong communication skills (both verbal and written), the ability to interface with a variety of people in a global organization. Able to create professional documents/presentations and have presentation experience from small to large group audiences Strong team player. Ability to work in teams, facilitate, plan and follow-up with commercial issues or projects. Flexible and adaptable personality; ability to change as Merck's needs and environment changes.
